Hello :)

 I hate it when people's hands are in pictures -_-

So a bit about me. My name is Sarrah, though I go by TurtlesOnAFence on the interweb. I'm an 19 year old university student living in Toronto, studying French and Spanish. I love languages and hope to be fluent in both in the upcoming years. I also enjoy music, everything from Franz Ferdinand to Il Divo, Alicia Keys to Bjork, Adele to Calle 13.

A passion of mine, if you can call it that, is crafting. It's something I've been doing for years and serves as an outlet for my creativity. Sewing, collages, and anything using paint and/or glitter are my favourite ways to go.

I started this blog because I had a song stuck in my head: Mariella, by Kate Nash. I wanted to say something about it, hence the blog. It became the first post.

Basically I Saw a Turtle On a Fence... consists of my "ramblings through the avenues of time" (FOTC  ftw). I post what I feel like when I have something to say or something I want to get off my chest. Sometimes it's poems, my thoughts on songs, what's happening in my life, editorial like things, book reviews, rants, lists (which I am very fond of), and more. I discovered that I like to write about various topics and this seems like a good place to do it.

I also have a great love for television. I'm addicted. Honestly. I avoid shows with supernatural themes (I can't stand ghosts and vampires and stupid teenage drama) (that being said, I love Being Human U.S.). But give me a cop drama, Disney show, TLC or HGTV and I'm good to go. 

If you're reading this, I hope it means you like what you see. I tend to write like how I talk so if you're a grammar fiend, this might not be the place might drive you mad. But apart from that, I wish you a fantastically awesome day!!

p.s. My name comes from the Alex Haley quote: "Anytime you see a turtle up top a fence post, you know he had some help". It was on my gr. 8 music folder and for some reason it stuck. I still don't know what it means...
